August is shaping up to be a busy month for Call of Duty players. Activision and Infinity Ward will lift the curtain on Modern Warfare 4 during Call of Duty: NEXT on August 21, 2026, with fresh gameplay, Multiplayer details, and input from the team behind it. If you’re already planning how you’ll spend those first few days, Modern Warfare 4 Boosting may be part of the wider conversation. The closed Early Access Beta begins straight after the broadcast and runs from August 21 to August 25 for pre-order customers on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.

      Beta dates worth saving

There isn’t much downtime before the wider test. The Open Beta starts on August 28 and stays live until September 1, giving everyone on supported systems a chance to jump in. Switch 2 owners are included this time, which is a notable change after Call of Duty’s long break from Nintendo hardware. Pre-orders for that version open on August 26, so players won’t have to wait until launch to secure their copy. The schedule is simple enough, but it gives the community two different chances to get a feel for the game before October.

      What to watch during NEXT

Call of Duty: NEXT airs on August 21, 2026.
Early Access Beta runs from August 21 through August 25.
Open Beta follows from August 28 through September 1.
      Switch 2 pre-orders begin on August 26.
The full game is set to arrive on October 23.

The showcase should also answer the bigger Multiplayer questions. Infinity Ward is introducing Kill Block, a mode built around Westbridge, a military training complex that doesn’t stay the same for long. Its maps use three sections: two outer areas and a middle block. Between rounds, rail machinery shifts those pieces around. One match may favour a long lane; the next could push everyone into tight corners and broken cover. That’s the sort of change you notice quickly once a familiar route suddenly isn’t there anymore.

      Westbridge changes the fight

Kill Block launches with 3v3 Gunfight and a new 10v10 version, backed by more than 500 possible layouts. Some sections can also trigger simulated rain or snow, with moisture, frost, and snow building up on weapons as matches play out. It sounds like a small visual touch, yet it helps sell the idea that Westbridge is a working facility rather than a fixed arena. The goal seems clear: don’t let players settle into one routine. You’ll need to read the space, adjust your loadout, and move before the other team does.

      Loadouts, editions and the Dreadnought

The new Gunny system is meant to cut down the faffing around in Gunsmith menus. Infinity Ward says it isn’t an AI chatbot; it’s a hand-built tool that recommends close-, mid-, or long-range setups from attachments you’ve unlocked. Random bullet deviation is also gone, which should make shots feel more dependable. Vault Edition buyers get Operator packs, weapon content, BlackCell, and a DMZ bonus, while digital pre-orders include Moonlit Pearl and a Gilded Ruin challenge. After launch, players looking at cheap Modern Warfare 4 Boosting will also be watching for the Aston Martin Dreadnought SUV in DMZ and Warzone, a V12 armoured vehicle finished in Chiltern Green with an Oxford Tan cabin.
